There is a unique niche for such a text. Thus, this book provides an overview in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology with an emphasis on exam oriented questions, with great deal of knowledge collected from standard (National and International) books. After the success of my 9 books in different fields of Dentistry with different publications, I decided to come up with my own subject that is Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. It was my dream of writing a book in the field Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology to make the subject easier and to score in the University exams for Undergraduate students. The targeted audience for this book consists of BDS undergraduate students. It is for this audience that great pains have been taken to compile a large number of question papers with explanatory answers of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. It is not the goal of this book to be encyclopaedic. Rather, we aim to convey excitement of this rapidly evolving field in a simple and compressible fashion as possible and for the students to score better in their University Exams. We strive to make these intrinsically interesting questions into even more interesting by offering bountiful examples and illustrations, flow charts, mnemonics, histopathological line diagrams, point wise notes and at the end of all chapters (question papers), made an index of question papers so that students can search the required questions and answers directly. This book contains 22 chapters (question papers) from 2006 to 2016 (Old Scheme OS), Revised scheme 1 & 2 (RS 1&2), Revised scheme 3 (RS3) of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, so that students will get to know the question paper pattern, presentation and to secure more marks. In summary, I am indeed fortunate to have so many commitments from large number of authors, many of whom considered top experts in their field of subject. I have worked very hard to coordinate the chapters (Question papers), so that questions don’t significantly overlap. However, a certain degree of redundancy was deemed valuable. Before closing, I wish to thank, my teachers HOD (Ajit V. Koshy) and Guide (Amisha Shah), my staff and my colleagues who have supported me throughout and shared their knowledge and guided me to complete the book. For their assistance and support I am deeply grateful. Special thanks to Dr. Priya Lunawat, who had helped me to correct the mistakes. I am grateful to my friend Dr. Mrinal Mayank, who was there throughout the journey of writing the book, his assistance and contribution made me to complete the book. I am grateful to my wife Dr. Apurva Kulkarni, who helped me from start of my book till completion. Thank you God, and last, but not the least, my parents and my sister, without their blessings it couldn’t have been possible to complete the book. It has taken more than a year and much effort to complete this book. Thus, I have awaited its birth with excitement, hope and anticipation and the prayer that the book’s readers will be enthusiastic, and that its critics will be kind. Dr. Dinraj Kulkarni MDS, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology M.A.Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre, Pune. [dinrajkulkarni4@gmail.com]
